Further you should not short-sightedly
suppose that you can neglect the hardships of the workmen. and live on in peace without improving and raising their
livelihood. You should lose no time in supporting the work-
men on your own initiative, and in securing them an improved
livelihood.
As to the so-called educated classes, they should
abandon their mode of living in easy chairs. On the one
hand they should do their utmost to give the young men proper guidance in their theories, and to impart to the masses a general knowledge, and on the other hand they should avail themselves of their technical knowledge and ability
to help in the National Revolution and to do some construct-
ive work. The disease that has got rooted in the mind of
our Nationalists for ten of years past is pessimistic Paralysis. Now let us wake up and make up our minds to get our organisation set up and to work on as hard as we can. Organisation will bring us power, and pave us a way to existence. Be quick to accomplish our national revolution in compliance with the "Three Aspects of Democracy" so as to acquire an opportunity of existence for our Chinese race.
You should not take the rupture between the Kuomintang
and the Communist Party as an internal question of our Kuomintang, and let it be solved by the Kuomintang itself. A friend of mine who has been pained by the situation has said to me, "Our opposition to the Communists' terrorist policy was made a little bit too early. It is not because the crimes of the Communists have not all been exposed, but that the paralyzed Chinese masses will never wake up until they have reached the 18th Stratum in the Hell of Misery.
